RTI- Daundiya Kheda excavation not on request of
any individual
As regards the Daundiya Kheda excavation for gold in
Unnao, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) says that excavation of old
sites is a routine work of ASI and decision on Daundiya Kheda excavation was not
taken merely on the request of any particular individual. The information
provided to RTI activist Dr Nutan Thakur says that this work was done in
compliance of the letter dated 10 October 2013 sent by Dr Syed Jamal Hasan,
Director, Excavation to the Superintending Archaeologist, Lucknow circle.
As per RTI information. the work began on 18 October and ended on 19 November
for which 4 lakh rupees were sanctioned from Other expenses (Non plan) item of
which Rs. 2.78 lakh were actually used. Here excavation up to maximum depth of 5.93 m
and 6.10 m in the two sites of 4.25 x 4.25 m and 4.25 x 2.12 m was done in the
South-Eastern part of Raja Rao Ram Bax fort.

आरटीआई- डौंडियाखेड़ा खुदाई व्यक्ति-विशेष
के अनुरोध पर नहीं
उन्नाव जिले के डौंडियाखेड़ा में सोने की खुदाई पर
भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण का कहना है कि प्राचीन स्थलों की खुदाई करना उनका
नियमित कार्य है और डौंडियाखेड़ा की खुदाई का निर्णय सिर्फ किसी व्यक्ति-विशेष के
अनुरोध पर नहीं लिया गया था. आरटीआई कार्यकर्ता डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को दी गयी सूचना के
अनुसार डॉ सैयद जमाल हसन, निदेशक, उत्खनन द्वारा लखनऊ मंडल के पुरातत्व अधीक्षक को भेजे
पत्र दिनांक 10 अक्टूबर 2013 के अनुसार यह कार्य किया
गया.
18 अक्टूबर को शुरू हुआ यह काम 19 नवम्बर को समाप्त हुआ जिसके
लिए कुल चार लाख रुपये अन्य व्यय (गैर योजना) मद से स्वीकृत किये गए जिसमे 2.78 लाख रुपये का खर्च हुआ. यहाँ
राजा राव राम बक्स के किले के दक्षिण-पूर्वी भाग में 4.25 गुणा 4.25 मी एवं 4.25 गुणा 2.12 मी की दो खन्तियों का क्रमशः
5.93 मी एवं 6.10 मी की अधिकतम गहराई तक खुदाई
का काम किया गया.
